Health Is the Key to Baby’s Calcium Supplement

Health Is the Key to Baby’s Calcium Supplement

Calcium supplement for babies has always been a topic of concern for many mothers. How much do you know about calcium supplements? Do you know exactly how much calcium a child needs every day? What form of calcium can children absorb better? How much calcium can the baby absorb in the food rich in calcium? How to give the baby healthy and reasonable calcium supplements?

At present, calcium supplement products are mainly divided into oral liquid calcium and oral solid calcium according to the form and taking mode. Oral solid calcium must be decomposed by gastric acid to free calcium from the complex and release into a soluble ionic state for intestinal absorption. In this process, gastric acid will interfere with the dissolution of calcium ions and greatly affect the absorption of calcium. And there is a risk of stomach injury, accompanied by gas production, nausea and other discomforts. In comparison, oral liquid calcium is better because it basically does not need gastric acid to participate in the absorption process. The calcium ion dissociation procedure is simpler and more direct, the amount of calcium will not be lost and easier to be absorbed, and the safety of oral liquid calcium is higher.

Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to prevent calcium deficiency in infants:

    Addition: eat more calcium-rich food.

Children are in an important period of growth and development, and need more calcium than adults. Therefore, children should be supplemented with enough calcium. Breast milk is a natural calcium supplement, in which the proportion of calcium and phosphorus is most suitable for children to absorb, so we advocate breastfeeding children. Mothers in lactation should eat more calcium-rich foods, which can improve the calcium content of breast milk and indirectly supplement calcium for their children. At the same time, mothers can also supplement the calcium agent properly to solve the problem of insufficient calcium intake or poor absorption caused by various reasons. For children who have added complementary food, milk and dairy products are the best choices for calcium supplement, because dairy products are currently recognized as the most calcium-rich food, but mothers should pay attention to the absorption effect of baby’s constitution on milk and dairy products, if there are problems, they should supplement baby with calcium agent as soon as possible, such as calcium gluconate. In addition, all kinds of vegetables and fruits also contain a small amount of calcium. Nuts and seafood are also calcium-rich foods, and they contain vitamin D, which can help calcium absorption. It is recommended to drink fresh orange juice and supplement minerals every day. At the same time, all the substances that can reduce the acidity of the intestinal tract are conducive to calcium absorption, such as the lactose in milk, probiotics in yogurt, oranges in fruits, gluconic acid and carbohydrates.

Subtraction: do not add calcium supplements to milk powder.

Many mothers like to add calcium supplement products to milk powder to feed their babies, thinking that it can supplement nutrition and calcium. However, they don’t know that there are a lot of calcium elements in the milk powder the baby drinks. If the baby takes too much calcium element at a time, it can’t be fully absorbed, and it will have a negative effect. It is suggested that a small amount of calcium should be supplemented many times, which should be separated from milk drinking time. In addition, whether the baby is lack of calcium should be based on the trace element examination. Although some babies have no symptoms of calcium deficiency, the amount of calcium detected is lower than the normal standard. At this time, the mother needs to give the baby a proper and small amount of calcium supplement. Mothers should take their children to check up regularly.

Multiplication: basking in the sun can help supplement calcium.

At the same time as calcium supplements for children, parents should let them have more sun exposure and outdoor activities, and make sure that the sun directly shines on the skin, so that it can be easily absorbed. But parents should pay attention not to stay outside in the hot summer to avoid sunburn.

Division: scientific consumption of foods that inhibit calcium absorption.

Some vegetables, such as spinach, bamboo shoot, amaranth, soybean, water oat, onion and grass head, contain oxalate, which can combine with calcium to form calcium oxalate, affecting the absorption of calcium. So before cooking these vegetables, you should scald them in boiling water to remove the oxalic acid. Calcium agents should not be eaten together with oil food, because when fat is eaten too much, free fatty acids produced after digestion are easy to combine with calcium, reducing the absorption of calcium, so it is necessary to avoid excessive fat intake by babies. When the dietary fiber intake is too much, the combination of the components in the dietary fiber and calcium will also reduce the absorption of calcium, so it is not recommended that children eat many coarse grains.

Mothers, don’t be too eager to supplement calcium for their children. Health is the top priority. Therefore, you can choose liquid calcium agents such as calcium gluconate to supplement your baby’s calcium. The liquid calcium absorbs well and is healthier. While supplementing calcium, it puts natural protective clothing on your baby’s stomach.
