9 Knowledge Points of Parents Taking Their Baby to See a Doctor

9 Knowledge Points of Parents Taking Their Baby to See a Doctor

It’s not so easy to take the baby to the hospital. If you are ready at home, you can make an accurate and brief description of the relevant and important information to the doctor, which can help the doctor to make a correct diagnosis for the baby and make the baby get timely treatment.

9 Knowledge points of parents taking their baby to see a doctor

1. Make preparations before seeing a doctor

Before going out, record your questions one by one. When you see a doctor, ask him to check one by one. So that you don’t think of some forgotten questions after the doctor’s examination.

2. Consult the registered personnel after arriving at the hospital

If your baby’s symptoms make you not know which department to go to see a doctor, you can first consult the registration personnel, so as to choose a department suitable for your baby’s treatment, and avoid running around in a blind direction.

3. Choose a doctor you trust

Before you come to see a doctor, you can ask someone about the doctor you want to choose for your baby or the doctor you have known for a long time. You can also know which doctor is suitable for you through the expert list of the hospital.

4. Accurately, clearly and briefly describe the baby’s symptoms to the doctor

When describing the baby’s condition, first tell the doctor the main reason for going to the doctor, and describe the baby’s symptoms to the doctor as accurately and concretely as possible, not from some irrelevant trivial matters. At the same time, it is also necessary to introduce to the doctor how long the symptoms appear, such as diarrhea, abdominal pain for 2 days; or nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose for 2 days, etc., so that the doctor can quickly have a preliminary understanding of the main condition of the baby.

5. Describe the symptoms clearly to the doctor

Take abdominal pain and diarrhea as an example. Point out to the doctor exactly the location of the baby’s abdominal pain, the starting time and duration of the pain, what are the characteristics of the pain, when it occurs, when it is more serious, when it is relieved and how painful is it. Explain to your doctor the number, color, and character (rice soup type, water sample egg flower soup type) of your stools every day, and whether there is fishiness or special smell, etc. If there are other symptoms, such as fever, chills, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, etc., please also introduce them to the doctor, including the causes of the baby’s disease, such as fatigue, cold, overeating and accidental injury.

6. General information about baby

In addition to introducing the main symptoms to the doctor, the baby’s general situation should also explain to the doctor. For example, how about diet, spirit, defecation and sleep?

7. A detailed description of previous diagnosis and treatment

It is necessary to explain in detail to the doctor which hospitals have been treated before coming to the hospital, what drugs have been taken so far, how many doses have been taken, and how effective they are, so as to avoid short-term repeated use of drugs. To provide doctors with all the examination reports, diagnosis and treatment methods, on the one hand, for doctors’ reference, on the other hand, to avoid repeated examination and reduce unnecessary blood drawing or X-ray exposure for babies.

8. Actively cooperate with the doctor to check the baby

When checking the baby, the baby’s face can be facing the doctor so that the doctor can observe the baby’s face color and expression, which is very helpful to judge the baby’s condition. When the doctor uses the tongue depressor to check the baby’s mouth, you should hold the baby well to avoid the baby moving around. When a doctor auscultates a baby with a stethoscope, don’t gush about the baby’s condition nearby, so as not to affect the doctor’s attention and interfere with the doctor’s diagnosis and judgment.

9. Explain baby medication when doctors prescribe

If your baby has ever had an allergic reaction to a drug, be sure to explain it to your doctor so as not to have an adverse reaction. If the baby suffers from a chronic disease and takes medicine for a long time, it is also necessary to inform the doctor, so that the doctor can use the medicine correctly, avoid some drugs aggravating the original condition, or use with some drugs to cause adverse reactions, which will bring unnecessary harm to the baby.
