6 Skin Problems of Infants and Their Solutions

6 Skin Problems of Infants and Their Solutions

1. Drying and desquamation

Dry skin and desquamation are the most common in the palm and sole of the foot, which is a normal phenomenon, not a skin disease. It can’t be said that this kind of baby’s skin belongs to the “dry” type. Most disappear quickly within a few days of birth.

Nursing strategy: a small amount of baby oil can be used to gently wipe on the dry skin surface, keep it moist, so that the symptoms can be relieved.

2. Miliary rash

There are some white spots on the baby’s nose. This is “baby miliary rash”.

Nursing strategies: they are caused by short-term blockage of sweat glands and sebaceous glands. Don’t squeeze it, it will disappear within a few weeks without treatment.

3. Cradle cap

In a few weeks after birth, some babies will have brown scabby spots on their heads, commonly known as “cradle hats”, sometimes spread to their faces, bodies or diaper area, producing red scaly rashes. It looks rough and ugly, but it doesn’t hurt the baby.

Nursing countermeasures: moisten the spots with baby oil, keep it for several hours, soften it, gently comb the baby’s hair, remove these scales, and finally wash the baby’s hair with baby shampoo or baby soap.

4. Milk ringworm

The red pimples on the cheeks and eyebrows often cause babies to cry. This is “infantile eczema”, commonly known as “ringworm of the milk”, which is generally related to their physical allergies.

Nursing countermeasures: wash the baby’s face with warm water, avoid soap or other irritant substances. After washing the face, apply cream of ringworm or anti-allergy drugs. Cut short your baby’s fingernails. Don’t wear them too thick and warm. Try to reduce irritation.

5. Diaper rash

Diaper rash is a skin disease caused by the stimulation of the baby’s skin by defecation. It may also be caused by not washing the soapy water in the diaper.

Nursing countermeasures: change the diaper soiled or wet by the baby in time; when changing the diaper every time, wash the baby’s buttock with warm water, do not use soap or overheated water (should be > 40 ℃); smear the baby’s buttock care cream, and it is better to use the medicine and strengthen the nursing under the guidance of the doctor.

6. Prickly heat

The baby’s skin is prone to prickly heat in summer.

Nursing countermeasures: keep the room ventilated and cool, don’t wear too much, take a bath with warm water, and keep the skin dry. If the symptoms of prickly heat can’t be relieved for a long time, you should take your baby to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment.
