What Water Is Healthier for the Baby?

What Water Is Healthier for the Baby?

We can’t live without water. Drinking water is the most important way to replenish the body’s water. But what water is healthier for the baby? What if the baby doesn’t like drinking water? Mothers really need to know.

The proportion of water in the human body is very high. The younger the baby is, the more vigorous the metabolism is, and the more water there is in the body.

Moisture accounts for 78%-80% of the total body weight in the neonatal period; 70% in infancy; 65% in toddler’s age; 60% in adulthood. All creatures are the same. Without water, there is no life. The most basic phenomenon of life is metabolism. Body fluids are necessary for metabolism, and water is also the product of metabolism.

There are many kinds of water, which one is more beneficial to the baby?

Most admired — boiled water

The most economical and practical beverage for children is boiled water because pure boiled water is easiest to quench thirst. It is easiest for boiled water to penetrate the cell membrane, promote metabolism, regulate body temperature, transport nutrients, and clean up the “garbage” inside the body. Scientific research has found that boiled cold boiled water can increase the content of hemoglobin in the blood, enhance immune function and improve the disease resistance of human body; people who are used to drinking cold boiled water have high dehydrogenase activity, less accumulation of lactic acid in muscle and are not prone to fatigue.

Boiled water within 1 hour after boiling is the best drinking water. Cold boiled water stored for a long term and dumped repeatedly can be contaminated by bacteria, so do not boil too much water each time.

The least nutritious — pure water

Pure water sounds cleaner, but drinking it for a long time is not good for your health. Because from the process of purified water, it has been purified many times, the bacteria and other pollutants in the water have been removed, but also removed potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, strontium, zinc and other essential minerals for human body, so that when the baby drinks pure water, he can not get some necessary minerals for human body like drinking tap water. Drinking pure water for a long time is harmful to the baby’s health. Many European countries stipulate that pure water cannot be used directly as drinking water. Therefore, it is best not to let the baby drinking pure water.

The most expensive — baby water

Baby water is a kind of natural spring water, pure and safe, without impurities. It contains a variety of trace elements and minerals, is suitable for the baby’s body, and can protect the baby’s kidney. It has super solubility and permeability and can be used to prepare formula milk, rice flour and fruit juice. The disadvantage is that the price is expensive.

Maximum minerals — mineral water

Mineral water is a kind of drinking water that is processed from underground natural mineral water without pollution. Mineral elements and trace elements are essential nutrients, which are beneficial to human health. However, mineral water contains a variety of minerals, which may not be good for babies who are not well developed.

Infants and young children have a special physiological structure: dysfunction of the intestine, stomach and kidney. Due to the imperfect development of kidney and other organs in infants, the function of glomerular filtration, concentration and reabsorption of renal tubules and excretion are poor, so more water is needed when discharging waste. The excessive trace elements in mineral water will aggravate the burden on the kidney and intestine and stomach of infants. So mineral water is not necessarily suitable for babies. It is suggested that milk powder should be mixed with boiled water.

TIPS

1. The temperature is suitable. Supercooled or overheated water can damage the baby’s delicate gastric mucosa and affect digestion. Generally speaking, the boiled water for babies should be at room temperature in summer and 37 degrees Celsius or so in winter.

2. Don’t put honey or glucose in the boiled water when drinking it. Once the baby falls in love with sweet drinks, he will be even less fond of boiled water.

3. Drink less beverage. Although fruit juices and sodas are very attractive to babies in taste, they often contain many saccharides and electrolytes which are easy to stay in the stomach for a long time, causing adverse stimulation to the gastrointestinal tract and affecting the digestion and appetite of babies. Therefore, mothers should not replace boiled water with a beverage.

4. Don’t wait for the baby to be thirsty to drink. If the baby has arisen dry mouth, oliguria, yellow urine, constipation and other phenomena, it means that the baby’s body needs water! When the baby feels thirsty, the cells in the body already lack water, even so, it will have a negative impact on the healthy growth of the baby. Therefore, parents should always prepare suitable temperature water for the baby, and timely remind the baby to drink water.
