- Skin cleaning
In winter, the weather is cold, it’s OK to wash your baby’s face once or twice a day. Except for heavy activity and sweating, it is more appropriate to take a bath or two a week. Wash your baby’s hands and face with warm water. The water temperature should not be too high. The mother can try the temperature with her hands or the inside of her elbow.
- Moisten the skin
After cleaning your baby, don’t forget to rub some moisturizing and non-irritating moisturizer on his/her small face and hands. Before going out in winter, you should rub some baby oil or moisturizer on the area where the skin is particularly easy to dry. Don’t rub it too thick. In addition, it is better to apply moisturizing oil half an hour before going out, so that the moisturizing oil is fully absorbed and the baby’s skin secretes some oil itself, which will achieve the best moisturizing effect.
- Moisturize lips
Moisturizing is the key to baby lip care. If it is found that the baby’s lips are dry and cracked, apply a damp and hot towel on the baby’s lips first, so that the mucous membrane of the lips can absorb moisture sufficiently, then apply some lip balm or sesame oil. In addition, let the baby drink warmer boiled water to supplement vitamin B2 and vitamin C.
- Air Moisturizing
In winter, the air is dry, and the infant’s tender skin is especially sensitive to the dry environment, so we should pay attention to the reasonable adjustment of indoor humidity. Generally speaking, it is more effective to open a humidifier indoors or put a basin of clear water in the room in winter, and putting some pots of green leaves plants is also a simple and easy way to moisturize.
- Breathable clothing
Choosing the right underwear is one of the key factors to keep baby’s skin healthy. All-cotton clothes which can dress and undress easily are preferred. Loose clothes can keep skin breathing.
- Outdoor activities
In the summer, mothers can choose time before 8 am or between 5 pm-6 pm. At this time, the sun does not stab the skin easily. In the winter, when the weather is good, mothers should take your baby out more to promote calcium absorption and breathe fresh air.
- Open windows for ventilation frequently
- Change clothes in time
Take off the coat while sleeping, cover a light, warm and breathable quilt, and use vest sleeping bag at night to prevent from catching cold if the quilt is pulled off.
- Pay attention to keep warm
The most suitable room temperature for babies is about 25 degrees Celsius. It’s better to have a thermometer at home to observe the temperature change at any time. Before bathing, make some games for preparation. Put the clothes to be changed, the big bath towel and other items on hand. Turn on the electric heater for a period of time and wait for the room temperature to rise, and then quickly bathe the child.
- Wipe sweat in time
Babies’ blood circulation accelerates and their pore opens during outdoor activities. If the baby sweating, mothers should use towels to wipe sweat in time, otherwise babies are vulnerable to catch cold.
